Montreal Chamber Music Festival – Gregory Charles

It was actually the first time I had heard about this festival but it has been around for many years now #solate. Still, better late than never 😉

This festival’s goal was to prove that “chamber music is not reserved for a select few. By showcasing the different facets this beautiful music has to offer, we have made is accessible to all.” Indeed, it is very affordable (only $20 for students!)

The first concert of a series features the one-man show Gregory Charles! It will look back upon the past 250 years of western music, from Baroque to hip-hop and from the French Revolution to the digital revolution. Not to be missed if you like to feel the groove 🙂

Time: 8pm

Saturday & Sunday, June 8th & 9th

Grand Prix Weekend

Wouldn’t know where you are if you live in Montreal yet haven’t heard about Grand Prix Weekend – which also has international reputation 😉

This weekend is world renowned for bringing together fancy, luxury and race cars together. Car fans or not, this is definitely worth the detour!

The actual race is happening on Sunday on the Ste-Helene island, but apparently, on Saturday, during the qualifiers, that is when you can witness the best time ever. Tickets are not cheap – and may also already be sold out – but you’ll know for next year 😉

Rejoice yourself, there will be activities, booths, and of course cars in the city! The main streets are usually Crescent street and Peel street. Also, if you drag someone along with you, there are often a lot of contests, free food for them, and concerts at night!

Lastly, many brands and bars organize special events for the occasion. You have time to shop around and decide until then. Choose wisely because, although you know for sure the atmosphere will be insane and the night memorable, your wallet may remember it just as much.
